Dancers from The National Ballet of Canada Perform in Victoria, Nanaimo and Vancouver


The National Ballet of Canada is sending 10 dancers to be presented by Dance Victoria on September 26, The Port Theatre in Nanaimo on September 28 and with Ballet BC at the Vancouver Playhouse on September 30.

Kids Corps & T-dot: Two Amazing Opportunities for Young People.


Kids Corps is a membership programme specifically designed for children ages 5 to 12. Four family friendly events are offered each year and each child receives a t-shirt, membership card and fun newsletters over the course of the season. Click here for information and to register.

Now in its seventh year, T-dot is a FREE programme that brings together eight Toronto arts organizations to provide hands-on workshops and arts experiences in dance, theatre, opera and film for youth ages 15 to 18. Space is limited so visit paone.ca for information.

Company News


Principal Dancers Sonia Rodriguez and Piotr Stanczyk will dance a pas de deux from The Sleeping Beauty at the International Ballet Festival of Miami in Florida on September 12 & 13, 2009.

The National Ballet of Canada will perform a preview presentation from Aszure Barton’s world premiere at Yonge-Dundas Square on September 16, 2009 at 9:00 pm as part of the Toronto International Film Festival’s screening of Mao’s Last Dancer.

Principal Dancer Guillaume Côté will dance the role of Prince Siegfried in a new version of Swan Lake revised by Mikhail Messerer at the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia on September 16 & 19, 2009.

Principal Character Artist Tomas Schramek will be honoured at the 60th anniversary celebrations of SLUK, the state folk dance ensemble that he first danced with in 1959, in Bratislava, Slovakia on September 26 & 27, 2009.

Grace Hanley and McGee Maddox join the company this season as members of the Corps de Ballet. Grace joins us from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and McGee from Houston Ballet.
