Canadian choreographer Aszure Barton discusses her upcoming world premiere for The National Ballet of Canada. Ms. Barton's new work will be presented with George Balanchine's The Four Temperaments and Jerome Robbins' Glass Pieces, November 25 – 29, 2009.

Company News


Music Director and Principal Conductor David Briskin will conduct the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra in its first concert of the season on October 9, 2009 at 7:30 pm at the MacMillan Theatre. The programme features works by Beethoven, Webern and Mahler, with student baritone Vasil Garvanliev.

Second Soloists Elena Lobsanova and Noah Long will perform with the Apprentices in YOU dance at the Algoma Fall Festival in Sault Ste. Marie on October 15, 2009.

Principal Dancer Zdenek Konvalina will perform excerpts from Seven Greek Dances in Diaghilev P.S. at the Alexandrinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia on October 19, 2009 to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Diaghilev's Russian Seasons.

Corps de Ballet member Klara Houdet will perform in In the steps of Bach, an evening of dance celebrating the legacy of J.S. Bach, in support of the Montreal Bach Festival, on October 29, 2009 at Le Lion D'Or in Montreal.

Former National Ballet of Canada dancer Martin Lindinger appears with ProArteDanza at the Fleck Dance Theatre, October 14 – 17, 2009. ProArteDanza's 2009 season features a world premiere by Roberto Campanella inspired by the life of Galileo Galelei, Hidden Places, a North American premiere by Artistic Associate and Dora Award-winning choreographer Robert Glumbek and two other celebrated ProArteDanza works.
