1. After growing up in South Carolina and living in Houston, Texas you have moved to the snowier climate of Toronto just in time for the Fall Season. What has been the biggest change during the move? Are you excited about winter or dreading it?

Everything has been a big change for me so far: New apartment, new co-workers, new city, new vibe. It has been a very refreshing experience. It’s odd not having a car anymore but my new bike is getting me around the city just fine. As for the weather, I am actually looking forward to a white winter. I find snow to be invigorating but the freezing winds might get to me.

2. The Fall Season will be your debut with The National Ballet of Canada. Which piece gives you the most opportunity to show Toronto audiences what you've got?

That would have to be Glass Pieces. There is so much power and energy in the music and the choreography. It will give me a great chance to show off my speed and athleticism.

3. You recently performed an excerpt from Aszure Barton's new work at an outdoor event for the Toronto International Film Festival, during which movie stars and directors flooded the streets of Toronto for ten days. Is there anyone in particular you most wish to have in the audience?

Without a doubt, Penelope Cruz. She was in town to promote her new film Broken Embraces and I think she is incredibly talented.

4. Aszure Barton is rapidly gaining critical acclaim in Canada and internationally. How do you think the TIFF audience received the piece? From your rehearsals with her, what most stands out about her style?

I think the TIFF audience was pretty impressed with her piece. Aszure Barton has a very unique style. She has a knack for blending contemporary, classical and pedestrian movement qualities.

5. Of the repertoire in the upcoming 2009/10 season, which piece are you most looking forward to?

Rudolf Nureyev's production of The Sleeping Beauty is a ballet that I am very excited to be a part of. It's always a pleasure to dance in classical productions of old ballets. I am also looking forward to seeing the new designs for Onegin.
