Biography

Alejandra Perez-Gomez was born in Toronto, Ontario. She studied at L’École superiéure de ballet contemporain de Montréal, the Princess Grace Academy in Monaco and San Francisco Ballet School. Ms. Perez-Gomez joined The National Ballet of Canada in 1998 and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2006.

With the National Ballet, Ms. Perez-Gomez has danced Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty and Baba and Arabian Coffee in The Nutcracker. Her repertoire also includes The Four Seasons, The Four Temperaments, Désir, Opus 19/The Dreamer, Stravinsky Violin Concerto, Jewels and There, below.

Ms. Perez-Gomez created roles in Matjash Mrozewski’s Wolf’s Court and A Delicate Battle and James Kudelka’s An Italian Straw Hat, The Contract (The Pied Piper), The Firebird and Swan Lake. She performed in the world premieres of Peter Quanz’s IN COLOUR and Crystal Pite’s Emergence, as well as the recent company premieres of Dominique Dumais’ Skin Divers and John Neumeier’s The Seagull.
